Monopole. Old vines on north-east-facing slopes. Density and concentration here with dark-cherry fruit and leafy notes. Oak is there but so subtle and in the background. A very fine Chinon rouge with a long future ahead. (AWH)

This tank sample of the 2022 Clos de la Dioterie is closed and reticent but full of dark fruit and savoriness. It is still tightly wrapped. The 2022 needs time to unfurl in bottle but will get there. This is intense and concentrated with huge structure. Acidity and tannins meet to provide a robust nature. The 2022 is one for the long haul.
