The 2018 Duo de Conseillante is a soft, fruity Pomerol to drink now and over the next decade or so. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender and a touch of savory floral/peppery character lend energy. Time in the glass brings out pretty rose petal and blood orange accents. The 2018 is nicely done.
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Duo de Conseillante comes bounding out of the glass with open-knit notes of stewed black and red plums, blackberry preserves and mulberries, plus suggestions of pencil shavings, red roses, bouquet garni and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has lovely purity and freshness with a light chewiness to the tannins and a savory finish.
About the producer

Château la Conseillante was built in 1750 and named after the proprietor, Libourne business woman Catherine Conseillan. The reputation of the wines quickly grew and her wines became some of the most expensive in the region.
