Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru is extremely tight to the point of being austere. White flowers, sage, mint, citrus and orchard fruit all emerge, albeit with great reluctance. Savory notes veer into the realm of the slightly vegetal, which I find gives the wine a somewhat awkward feel. The Preuses is not an easy wine to read today, that much is clear.

The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses is one of the pinnacles of the portfolio at La Chablisienne, opening in the glass with aromas of orange blossom, oyster shell and iodine that are beautifully distinctive and ethereal. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, saline and three-dimensional, with a racy spine of acidity, excellent concentration and a searingly saline finish.
