Score 92/100 · Drink 2025-2045, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2018

Picked on October 17, the 2016 Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg delivers almond notes on the somewhat undeveloped nose. The palate is pure, very tight and slightly bitter on the finish. It's a salty, fresh and pure Schlossberg that reveals firm tannins but also good concentration. This 2016 seems to be down for the moment and perhaps needs some time to come back. Bottled with a moderate 12.5% alcohol and eight grams of residual sugar. Tasted October 2018.

Granite. Very pale. Tense and extremely nervy on the nose. Lovely and cool and fresh. Very pure. Polished and confident. (JR)
