Score 79/100 · Drink 2003, Robert Parker, Jun 2003
The medium ruby-colored, soft, fruity 2000 Hermitage Pied de Cote is significantly inferior to what I tasted last year. Simple, straightforward, and shallow, it is disappointing for a wine from this appellation. Anticipated maturity: now. Importer: Frederick Wildman, New York, NY; tel. (212) 355-0700

Bright medium ruby. Superripe, slightly medicinal aroma dominated by kirsch Fleshy and port-like in the mouth, with sappy black cherry and pepper flavors. Finishes with substantial tannins. A good bit of the La Chapelle hillside juice was declassified into this wine in 2000.
