Un Barolo con netti sentori di uva appassita, con tannini leggermente asciuganti, rovere tostato e baccello di vaniglia. Pieno, masticabile. Credo si farà in maniera piacevole, diventando un rosso decadente ed opulento. Serve affinamento in bottiglia. Almeno sino a dopo il 2014.

The 2006 Barolo Vigna d'la Roul is one of the undeniable stars of this important vintage. A massive, tightly wound frame houses dark red cherries, minerals, iron and licorice in a powerful expression of Nebbiolo. The Vigna d'la Roul shows incredible thrust on the palate, with a long, intense finish that suggests it will offer very fine drinking for many, many years...once it awakes from what is likely to be a prolonged slumber in bottle. Clean, mineral notes add the final elements of vibrancy to the finish. The Vigna d'la Roul is the freshest and potentially longest-lived of the estate's 2006 Baroli.

The 2006 Barolo Vigna d’la Roul is one of the undeniable stars of this important vintage. Clean, mineral notes add the final elements of vibrancy to the finish. The Vigna d’la Roul is the freshest and potentially longest-lived of the estate’s 2006 Baroli. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031. Proprietor Rodolfo Migliorini has another set of gorgeous wines on his hands with these 2006 Baroli. A house style built on textural richness remains very much in evidence, but in recent years the overt oakiness the wines once showed has come down, allowing the estate’s vineyards to show more of their true and highly unique voices. Good deep red. Wild, complex aromas of redcurrant, graphite, tobacco, game, nutty oak and smoky minerality. Big, rich, sweet and fine-grained, with the smoky minerality carrying through in the middle and giving this smooth Barolo excellent definition and lift. Not quite as sweet as the Big d'Big but finishes with broad, serious tannins and excellent persistence. This wine comes from what is arguably the best part of the sprawling Manzoni cru, adjacent to the winery.
