Withdrawn nose hints at menthol and spearmint. Elegantly styled but tight and backward; seems quite closed today following the recent bottling. In spite of this wine's impression of brooding energy, there's an essential silkiness to its texture that's extremely promising. I suspect the 2009 version will give pleasure earlier.

Cooler yellow peach and lemon aromas are lifted by a floral topnote. Suave on entry, then elegant and pliant in the middle, with a dominant flavor of crystallized lemon peel. Very firmly built wine, finishing with lovely lingering stony perfume.
