A rich garnet, the 2010 Barolo Riserva Rocche Di Castiglione is aromatic of leather, dried cherry, balsamic, and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, it is rounded with notes of cherry liqueur, ripe orange, and turned soil and offers sweet tannins and a ripe feel. it is drinking well now and has another 5 or so years of drinking ahead.

Castiglione Falletto. Just mid ruby with broad orange-tinged rim. Classic earth and iron nose with hints of sweet dried fruit, spice and a hint of Moroccan leather. Multilayered fruit palate but very slow to come out. Brick-like, firm tannic structure and will need lots of time. (WS)
