Neive. Lustrous mid ruby. Lifted cherry and black-tea-leaf nose: a little ethereal. Ripe, juicy cherry fruit on the palate with a nice kick of gripping tannins on the finish. The tannins have been handled admirably well in this vintage. (WS)

Displaying a darker brick red color, the 2022 Barbaresco Gallina is lush with the ripe cologne of black licorice, grenadine, pressed flowers, and balsamic herbs. It’s broad and expansive on the palate, with a rounded feel upfront, medium to full-bodied structure, ripe tannins, and a drying finish. It has a more tertiary note of black truffle as well as an earthy note that lasts on the finish. Drink bottles over the coming 6-7 years.
