This is leaning into tea leaf and bark territory with plenty of plum purée and forest floor lingering in the background. Full body, juicy tannins and a chewy finish. Blend of 75% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Drink now.

Although not as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel, but still well-made, the 2011 La Couspaude exhibits dusty, loamy soil, earth, spice and new oak notes. It is a pleasant, medium-bodied wine, but seems less rich than other vintages.
