Tasting notes
A more textural vintage for this wine, the 2022 Vistamare is a similar bright silver/straw color and reveals a bit more sunny fruit with notes of white pineapple, melon, tangerine, and lemon oils. The palate is fuller at this stage, probably due to both the ripeness and the concentration of the vintage, as it has had another year to flesh out. It also has a more apricot-noted ripe touch of fruit, and while its salinity is still present, it fades more into the background note. They used more wood from the Vosges in this vintage compared to 2023, where they used more Allier, contributing to the more Chablis-like nature the vintage exhibits. I love that they never fall prey here to the bitterness that these varieties so often take on. Bravo.
