Tasting notes
The 2013 Inversus is Casaloste's Merlot/Sangiovese blend. Made in a decidedly international in style, the 2013 has terrific richness, depth and pliancy, featuring dark jammy fruit, mocha, chocolate, licorice, lavender and spice. Not a subtle wine, but very well done.

This is 90% Merlot and 10% Sangiovese from the comune of Panzano in Chianti. The 2013 Inversus opens to a thick and impenetrable appearance with inky veins of black and deep purple. That thick concentration is followed by blackberry preserves, dried cherry, spice and sweet tobacco. The finish is very dry, but it also offers a heavy load of thick extraction. The mouthfeel is abrupt and weighty as a result. Some 4,500 bottles were produced.
