Tasting notes
The 2019 Pommard Les Vignots is a such a terrific introduction to this range. The purity of the flavors is just striking. All of the raciness and suppleness of Pommard explodes from the glass in a heady, sensual Burgundy that captivates all the senses. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, spice and floral accents abound, but with all of these wines, it is the textures that I find most alluring. Soft, curvy and voluptuous, the Vignots dazzles right out of the gate. What a wine. I especially like the energy of the finish, too.

The 2019 Pommard Les Vignots began my tasting with Lalou Bize-Leroy, and it certainly set a high standard for the wines that followed. Soaring from the glass with scents of raspberries, plums and blackberries mingled with loamy soil, exotic spices and hints of rose petal, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a seamless, sensual profile.
Cask sample. Very deep crimson. Earthy nose and real lift and zest. Full of life. Notably zesty. (JR)
