2021 Santenay 1er Cru Clos des Mouches

The 2021 Santenay Clos des Mouches 1er Cru was hit hard by frost as it was pruned earlier than other cuvées. It offers red cherry and bergamot scents on the nose, though not quite as complex as either the Beauregard or Clos Rousseau. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of pepperiness on the entry, slightly more granular in texture, yet still well balanced with a trace of bay leaf and clove on the finish. Very fine.
