Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2045, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Aug 2022
The 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Clos de Rochegrès unwinds in the glass with scents of cherries, cassis, dark berries, sweet soil tones and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's bright and seamless, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a saline finish. It's less ethereal than the 2019 without being as muscular as the 2018, striking a nice balance.

Some new oak, for 10–12 months. Deep crimson. Sweet spice, rock dust, sweet dark cherry and damson. Plush, deep dark fruit. Dense and incredibly smooth. Less oaky than is typical for Ch des Jacques? Touch of vanilla on the finish and a fine fresh bite. Tannins have an attractive dry delicacy on the finish. (JH)
