Score 88/100 · Drink 2020-2025, Neal Martin, Feb 2020
The 2017 Domaine de la Solitude has a slightly broody bouquet with blackberry, cranberry and light floral scents, just a slight oyster shell note lurking in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy opening: tart red cherries, plenty of brown spices mixed with leather and a judicious sprinkling of thyme towards the savory finish. I suspect this will be best enjoyed in its flush of youth.
