Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Les Blanchots Grand Cru is a wine of total class and sophistication. Bright, lifted and perfumed, the Blanchots is an airy, gracious grand cru that will thrill readers who appreciate the more delicate, understated side of Chablis. Clean mineral, floral and citrus notes meld into the silky, polished finished. The 2017 was done in just three steel barrels, so production is a measly 900 bottles or so.

The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots Vieilles Vignes has gained in tension since I tasted it from barrel, and today, the wine displays a pretty bouquet of crisp peach, white flowers, orange rind and anise without the musky nuances it revealed 12 months ago. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and layered, with a ripe core of fruit and a saline finish. Only 75 cases were produced.
