Verduno. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Balsamic nose with quite a bit of concentration, yet still subdued. Strawberry and raspberry fruit on the palate and with finely chiselled tannins that go on and on. Super-elegant and yet firmly structured and endlessly long. (WS)

Verduno. Mid ruby with orange tinges. A little subdued, with brooding, perfumed fruit on the nose and savoury, minerally touches. Juicy, almost racy cherry fruit on the palate. Plenty of concentration and yet elegant and with savoury, fine tannins. Closes up on the finish. (WS)
The 2019 Barolo Massara is a powerful, austere wine. Deep and imposing, with terrific depth, the Massara offers up an intriguing mix of red fruit, iron, game, tobacco, incense, white pepper and dried flowers. The Massara is a wild, animalistic Barolo imbued with tons of character. Give the tannins a bit of time to soften. There's a lot of wine here.
