Tasting notes
The 2013 Santenay Clos Rousseau is marked by piercing acidity that gives the wine much of its drive. Red stone fruits, cherry pit, spice and mint are nicely delineated in the glass. It will be interesting to see if the 2013 gains a bit more body during elevage, or if it remains a bit compact, as it is today.

Pale crimson. Lightly perfumed. A gentle luncheon burgundy?! Lightweight but very pretty. Eerily low acidity for the vintage. (JR)
The 2013 Santenay 1er Cru Clos Rousseau has a correct and straitlaced bouquet that gradually opens with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a candied core of red cherry and red currant fruit, a satisfying citric thread and a poised, if slightly abrupt, finish. Very fine.
