Sweet and juicy on the nose with some hard-candy element. Very hard work on the drying end. The fruit seems to be sucked out. (JR)

The 2016 Pommard 1er Cru les Pezerolles has a divine bouquet with perfumed black cherry and raspberry fruit tinged with violet, quite Volnay-like in style and very seductive. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin, fine body, nicely weighted in the mouth if, unlike the Epenots, just missing a touch of complexity on the finish. That may well develop with bottle age so cellar this for two or three years. Three barrels produced.
