Tasting notes
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a very pretty bouquet with hints of apple blossom and apricot yet underneath is the mineralité you seek from a noble vineyard like this. The palate is vibrant on the entry. There is a touch of reduction but it does not impede too much, allowing the finish to remain zesty and lively with tangy blood orange and ginger notes on the aftertaste. Very promising. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a clean, precise nose, the same level of reduction as the Les Referts, with green apple and light limestone scents. The palate is very well balanced, surfeit with tension thanks to the acidity, precise and mineral-driven towards the finish. What a wonderful Folatières, one that should age gracefully in bottle.
