2002 Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot

Musky aromas of stone fruits and butter. Sweet and full but vinous, with nicely integrated acids leavening its richness. Nicely balanced wine; really spreads out horizontally on the back end. Finishes ripe and fine, with none of the dryness that characterizes many of the 2003s in this cellar. Morey notes that this cuvee is now routinely rounder and more flattering in its youth than it used to be.
