Tasting notes
This old style Barolo will be adored by consumers who love the style of Giacomo Conterno and Bartolo Mascarello. It possesses the huge, truffle, earthy, smoked nut, black fruit-scented nose that one either adores or finds slightly dirty. A huge, full-bodied wine, it has mouthfilling, glycerin-dominated, rich, chewy, sweet flavors, surprisingly suppleness, and a massive finish with gobs of fruit and equally impressive tannin levels. It is likely to be a controversial Barolo, but I thought it to be spectacular. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. Importer: Vinifera Imports, Ronkonkoma, NY.
