Tasting notes
The 2015 Morellino di Scansano Capatosta is a bright and fruit-driven expression. You get a clear taste of plump red cherry, raw plum and wild blackberry. The wine is mostly Sangiovese with a smaller part Alicante that does a lot to change the overall taste profile and level of intensity that you get with this wine. The warm vintage also contributes to the direct and powerful delivery of aromas.

The oak-fermented 2015 Capatosta qualifies as a Morellino di Scansano Riserva, but is created as an IGT wine instead. The blend is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Alicante from a 12-hectare vineyard located 20 kilometers off the Tuscan Coastline at 400 meters above sea level. Farming is organic. This is a plush and fresh red wine with a pretty bouquet that offers red berry, pressed flower and mild spice. This mid-weight effort glides over the palate with ease.
