Tasting notes
For a cool vintage white Savigny this has good substance and creaminess together with a lively, but well-integrated acidity. As it aerates generous pear and candied citrus peel aromas develop. The finish is crisp and already quite nutty with some wet stone character. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Savigny-lès-Beaune Clos des Guettes Blanc 1er Cru is a little more backward on the nose than its peers, with touches of lanolin and wax resin. The palate is nicely balanced with good weight. It's citrus-fresh with a decent amount of extract lending weight on the finish of a moderate length. This is one cuvée that seems to meliorate in the glass and develops more spiciness on the aftertaste.
The 2021 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Guettes Blanc (Domaine Gagey) opens in the glass with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, lemon oil and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with creditable depth and persistence, it has turned out well.
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
