Tasting notes
The 2018 Chardonnay Mays Canyon, from vines planted in 1982, opens with notes of toast, honeycomb, crushed hazelnuts and dried hay over a core of yellow apples and wafts of jasmine perfume. Light-bodied, it has a slowly opening perfume and linear, mineral character, with an uplifted, delicate, super fresh finish. Give it another couple years in bottle.

The 2018 Chardonnay Mays Canyon is airy, gracious and lifted. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk and white pepper give the 2018 very pretty aromatic top notes. Today, the 2018 feels a bit lean and compact. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the coming year.
