The 2017 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru comes from the original eponymous lieu-dit , a single parcel of just 0.17 hectares. It has a pure, refined bouquet of blackberry, black cherries, a touch of Dorset plum and crushed stone. This is less intense than the Clos-de-la-Roche but just as captivating. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and replete with vivid red fruit struck through with orange peel, dovetailing into a slightly peppery, sustained finish that feels very assured. Excellent.
