Very purple and blackish. Muted nose. Meaty palate with lots of flesh and dust. A little dry on the end but lots of pleasure on the palate if not nose. At least it tastes natural! The property seems to be on a roll, and it looks as though you can pick up this wine for a relative song in France. (JR)

Red-ruby. Full-blown aromas of black raspberry, smoke and leather. Expressive already, with flavors of dark plum, mocha and coffee. Nicely supple, but seems quite evolved for its age (I would have guessed this to be ten years old). Still, this lush, gamey, rather full Pomerol makes attractive drinking right now.
The dark ruby-hued 2002 offers up scents of caramel-infused black cherries and plums. This soft, easy-going, pleasant, mainstream-styled offering can be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years.
Exceptionally deep purple. Very ripe and warm, almost overripe, notes on the nose. Very distinctive! Rich, sweet start with much more to it than most. Pretty worked, but to good effect. Almost distracts from the acidity. En primeur I found this a solid, rather old-fashioned effort and gave it 15. (JR)
About the producer
Close to the Pomerol church, the Labruyère family purchased this property in 1994. They immediately set to work, restructuring the vineyard, renovating the winery and allowing the property to emerge from the shadows.
