Score 87/100 · Drink 2013-2023, Robert Parker, Feb 2013

Chunky, uncomplicated, but attractive in a fleshy, delicious, medium to full-bodied style without a great deal of complexity, Cap de Mourlin’s 2010 is best drunk over the next decade.

This smells, to stir up the old debate again, rather porty. Yet the fruit somehow lacks ripeness too, with a bitter edge. (RH)

Blackish crimson. Oxidised overripe nose. Too much! Heavy. Then chewy. Hard work. Very drying tannins on the end. I will try another bottle... Same. Too exaggerated for me. (JR)
