Perfumed and racy, the 2022 de Fargues is one of the wines of the vintage and perhaps one of the most vibrant and lively in recent years. Evoking aromas of apricot, verbena, lemon, orange bloom and ripe orchard fruits, it's full-bodied, dense and layered, textural and enveloping with a dense, multidimensional core of fruit, perfectly balanced by noble rot, and culminating in an endless, fresh and ethereal finish. With 140 grams per liter of residual sugar, this de Fargues is a superb wine. Kudos!

85% Sémillon, 15% Sauvignon Blanc. Deep gold. Peachy, full and with distinct apricot hints. A bit like Tokaji, albeit with less acid and more sugar. Furry but fine. Lots going on here. (JR)

The 2022 de Fargues, 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon with 140 g/L residual sugar, is pale to medium straw in color. After a swirl or two, the nose bursts with vibrant notions of lemon curd, persimmon butter, and green mango, giving way to hints of sea spray, honey-drizzled peaches, and fresh ginger. The palate is concentrated yet beautifully restrained, delivering energetic citrus and tropical fruit layers with amazing tension, finishing very long.

Layers of ripe, pineapples, sweet, lemon curd, and apricots are sweet, bright, fresh, and rich, as well as long, intense, and fresh.

GP-accueil
de Fargues

Owned by the Lur-Saluces family (which also previously owned Ch. d’Yquem) since 1472, Ch. de Fargues benefited from similar care and attention. The resulting wines are impressive and – unlike most in the region which are now offered en primeur – only released three years after the vintage.
