Tasting notes
The 2022 Chardonnay Cuvée Louisa Goldrock Estate, matured in 30% new oak, has layered aromas of white peach, quince, hazelnuts and jasmine. The medium-bodied palate is silky and expressive with rounded acidity and a flourish of honey and spice character on the finish. Give it 2-3 years in the cellar. 300 cases were made.

A bright silver/yellow/green hue, the 2022 Chardonnay Cuvee Louisa Goldrock Estate comes from the coolest temperature part of the vineyard and one of the latest ripening blocks, and it also spent 18 months sur lies. In the glass, it offers great, focused energy on the nose, with notes of sea spray, lime leaf, bright apple, and fresh pear. Mouthwatering out of the gate, this full-bodied Chardonnay is highly elegant and refined. It’s long on the palate, with a chalky texture, a mouthwatering feel, and a lot of tension and length, and it’s only going to improve if given a chance. Drink 2025-2040. 300 cases were produced.
The 2022 Chardonnay Goldrock Estate Cuvée Louisa is redolent of crushed rocks, sage, white pepper and slate. A nervy, taut Chardonnay, the Cuvée Louisa captures all the intensely saline energy of this West Sonoma Coast site. Sizzling mineral notes extend the finish.
