Tasting notes
Sourced from a mosaic of exposures and elevations and incorporating old vines planted between 1969 and 1972, the 2023 Chablis Village offers aromas of pear, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and charming, it is underpinned by ripe yet racy acidity and concludes with a long, saline finish. Harvested earlier to preserve freshness, this is a well-executed village-level Chablis.

Tank sample. About to be bottled. A little subdued. Still a little astringent. (JR)
(from domaine fruit). Here the expressive nose is similar if perhaps just a bit more elegant and displaying a whiff of mineral reduction. There is slightly better volume to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess unusually good power in the context of the appellation and the only nit is a trace of warmth. This too should drink well after only a few years of keeping. Drink 2027+
The 2023 Chablis Village comes from 50 plots over 38 hectares and cropped at 58hl/ha. Just 15% of this Village Chablis sees used barrels, only after malo. It offers apple blossom, chalk and freshly sliced pear, simple but effective. The palate is well balanced with a tang of acidity, fresh and crisp with a malic finish. Moderate length. A solid Chablis Village.
