Score 85/100 · Drink 2017-2019, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

The 2014 Puygueraud Blanc, the Franc Côtes de Bordeaux from the Nicolas Thienpont stable, has a simple, waxy bouquet that needs more fruit to come through. It feels distant. The palate is slightly better with light pear and peach notes, but is seems one-dimensional and still feels rather shrill on the finish.

The 2014 Puygueraud Blanc is a pleasant, dry white to drink now and over the next few years, while the citrus and floral notes remain bright. Hints of smoke, slate and dried pear add further shades of nuance in this attractive, refreshing white from Nicolas and Cyrille Thienpont.
