The 2018 Bellegrave has a wonderful, very pure and enticing bouquet of black cherries, wild strawberry, heather and potpourri scents that blossom in the glass; the oak is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannins. This Pomerol is enhanced by a silky-smooth texture and wonderful cohesion on the finish. Simply an excellent, delicious wine from Jean-Marie Bouldy that should give 12–15 years of drinking pleasure.

Coming from a mix of 78% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Malbec, the 2018 Château Bellegrave offers a darker slant in its black cherry and blueberry fruits as well as notes of damp earth, spring flowers, and violets. This carries to a rich, medium to full-bodied Pomerol with a rock star of a mid-palate, loads of rich, opulent fruit, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This ripe, hedonistic beauty stays nicely balanced and has the pure, lively style of the vintage front and center. It's well worth seeking out and should keep for 10-12 years, most likely longer.

The 2018 Bellegrave is a wine I did not taste en primeur. Silky and gracious, with terrific aromatic presence, Bellegrave is more finesse than power. Crushed rose petal, lavender and red berry fruit are some of the many nuances that are laced throughout this impeccable, classy Pomerol. Bellegrave is a shy wine that does not call much attention to itself, but it is undeniably alluring and impossible to resist from the very first taste.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Bellegrave (Pomerol) gives up notions of raisin cake, prunes and spice box with hints of dried leaves and dusty soil. Full-bodied, rich and spicy in the mouth, it has a chewy texture and savory finish.
