Cask sample. Very rich and sweet on the nose. Maybe slightly too much? Exceedingly flattering but a little bit oaky at this stage. (JR)

The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Les Fournières 1er Cru has the same level of alcohol as the Les Vercots, although there is more power on the nose, which features copious raspberry coulis, wild strawberry and quince aromas. The palate is quite rich and powerful, with layered red berry fruit laced with white pepper and a touch of thyme. This is a slightly burly Aloxe-Corton in the making, although personally I discern more nerve on the Vercots.
