Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2021-2030, Neal Martin, Jan 2019
The 2017 Beaune Les Teurons 1er Cru comes from the domaine’s 2.31-hectare block. It has a slightly pinched bouquet of blackberry and raspberry fruit, perhaps not as charming as the Clos de la Mousse at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity and nicely integrated oak (25% new), and quite fresh with a touch of cassis on the aftertaste. I suspect that this will turn into a very fine Les Teurons, but the aromatics need time.
