Mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Cherry fruit that is a tiny bit herbal but very poised. Some progress on the nose, while the palate is polished with fine tannins. Elegant, fine and understated. (WS)

The 2013 Pergolaia (a Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) is a soft and yielding wine to drink with grilled meats or spicy sausage. This is a harmonious and well-balanced expression that delivers the warmth and the richness of Tuscany with exuberant fruit flavors of blackberry and dried cherry. The medium-bodied finish is fresh and pleasantly accessible.
