Score 92/100 · Drink 2017-2030, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017
The 2011 Barolo Brunate is a poised and elegant wine that uses the warmth of the vintage to its advantage. The bouquet opens to distinct and complex layers with dark fruit, moist earth, black truffle and pressed violets. There are subtle contrasts as well with sweet spice pitted against savory rosemary sprig. The wine is austere and firm with good tannic integration.

La Morra. Mid ruby with orange glow. An almost heady cocktail of cherry, rhubarb and marzipan on the nose. Amarene cherry fruit on the palate and rather tannic on the finish, but the fruit holds up effortlessly. Just needs age. (WS)
