Score 90/100 · Drink 2023-2029, Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, Mar 2024
The 2021 Cornas Vin Noir uses grapes grown in various parts of the appellation. Although Stéphane Robert doesn’t own the vineyards here, he secured them under a long-term contract and does all the work in the vineyard. Offering a refreshing and fruit-driven personality, the 2021 is a delicate and elegant Cornas that can be approached right after release.

The 2021 Cornas Vin Noir is even better and clearly a candidate for the wine of the appellation. Ripe blackberries, smoked herbs, cured meats, iron, and spice all flow to a medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, balanced Cornas offering ripe, velvety tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. Bravo.
