Tasting notes
The 2019 La Croix de Pez has a well-defined nose of brambly red berry fruit, cola and light undergrowth scents, just a touch of marmalade seeping through. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, supple tannins, fine acidity and notes of clove and bay leaf mixed with white pepper on the finish. Give this 2–4 years in bottle.

The 2019 La Croix de Pez offers abundant juicy black fruit on the nose, lacking a little flair and complexity but not short-changing you on intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, fine acidity, impressive purity and great precision on the finish. This is a deftly crafted Saint-Estèphe. Allowing my sample to aerate, it does develop more personality on the nose. Excellent.
