Tasting notes
The 2017 Angelots de Gracia melds together pliant, racy fruit and exotic aromatics, a combination that works so well here. Red/purplish berry fruit, wild flowers, mint and spice give the 2017 beguiling inner sweetness and perfume that carries through to the finish. The 2017 is such a pretty and inviting wine.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Les Angelots de Gracia offers up expressive notions of baked raspberries, blackberry pie and warm plums plus hints of violets and forest floor. Medium-bodied, the palate is plush, juicy and refreshing with a good concentration of fragrant fruit and a lifted finish.
The 2017 Les Angelots de Gracia, located southwest of Angélus, has a rich and slightly peaty bouquet, quite well defined even if slightly heady in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, well balanced with notes of burnt toast and bay leaf towards the finely proportioned finish. Recommended.
Coming from a tiny 1.26-hectare vineyard of sandy, clay, and iron soils located between Angelus and Fonrazade, 2017 Les Angelots De Gracia is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, harvested between September 27 and October 3, that was raised all in new barrels. Its inky purple hue is followed by bright Bing cherry and raspberry fruit tones as well as notes of spring flowers, sappy herbs, and subtle background oak. Nicely textured, medium-bodied, and concentrated, this beautiful 2017 will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and evolve for 15 years or more. Yields are down 50% and there were just over 100 cases produced, so there’s not much of this to go around.
