The 2018 Gracia has a very pure, elegant bouquet of perfumed black cherry and wild strawberry, wilted rose petal and a touch of cola. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, fine tannins and a sweet, vanilla-y finish that will take 3–4 years to absorb the new oak. But as always with Gracia, it has style and panache and the silkiness is nigh irresistible.

Black and red fruits, espresso bean, licorice and dark cocoa sensations are all over the place. The wine is round, concentrated, rich and lush, with a stone and herbal accent to all the deep, ripe fruits in the finish. Give it 4-5 years in the cellar before pulling a cork. The wine blends 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

I continue to love the wines from Michel Gracia. His 2018 Château Gracia comes from a 1.83-hectare parcel in Saint-Emilion and is 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a true vin de garage operation, made in a tiny cellar in the village. Revealing a dense purple hue as well as a rocking nose of crème de cassis, espresso, smoked tobacco, new leather, and spring flowers, this carries to a full-bodied wine with incredible polish and elegance, plenty of power and richness, silky tannins, and a great, great finish. This is another magical wine from this vigneron that will benefit from 4-5 years in the cellar and keep for two decades.

The 2018 Gracia is an absolutely gorgeous wine that balances fruit intensity and energy. Succulent black cherry, graphite, chocolate, leather and new French oak are all generous in the glass. Even with all of its intensity, the 2018 remains vibrant and focused. Gracia emerges from a tiny 1.83-hectare vineyard in Saint-Émilion's Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes sector.
