The 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Guettes 1er Cru has a lovely, very harmonious bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, and perhaps the most mineral-driven of Bize’s 2018s. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, but quite dense with a strong marine influence toward the finish. "This is a perfect example of where we pushed the extraction," Chisa Bize explained, and I can see what she means, as it feels a little forced.
