Tasting notes
The 2019 Ried Wunderburg is a pure Grüner Veltliner from the Kellerberg, just below the ruin that has always been part of the Kellerberg and Supperin. From entirely healthy grapes macerated for 20 hours on crushed grapes and vinified in a 600-liter barrel for two years (with one racking after a year), the intensely yellow-colored wine offers a clear, pure, elegant and flinty, very intense nose of ripe fruits and crushed stones. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich and elegant, refined and persistently saline Veltliner that was picked earlier than the other Kellerberg parcels. This is a very elegant and fine but substantial and elegant Veltliner with fine tannins and lingering salinity. This is an excellent firstling. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022.

The 2019 Ried Kellerberg Grüner Veltliner is deep, intense and flinty on the concentrated nose, with crunchy, crystalline notes. Lush and dense on the textured palate, with fine, mineral acidity structuring the mighty body, this is a rich Kellerberg with a still somewhat tight finish that needs a bit of time to receive more charm. 14.5% alcohol. Tasted at the domain in June 2021.
