Tasting notes
Aromas of pear, fresh bread and peaches preface the 2019 Bourgogne Blanc Les Champlains, a medium-bodied, chiseled and saline wine that's bright and incisive. From a parcel containing Pinot Beurot (the Burgundian name for Pinot Gris), it has turned out very nicely.

5% Pinot Gris in the blend. Tank sample. Quite rich on the nose and then with some bruised-apple notes. Is this to appeal to the natural-wine crew? Confident but atypical wine. Good texture, grip and density. Should last well. (JR)
The 2019 Bourgogne Blanc Les Champlains, which apparently contains a few vines of Pinot Beurot, was very primal on the nose. The palate is well balanced, with pineapple notes. Touches of white peach define an easygoing but fresh finish.
