Tasting notes
(60% of the crop was lost to frost): Riper orchard fruit aromas plus an element of reduction. Dense, sappy wine with lemon zest lift and lively minerality. There's an element of austerity here but this wine is showing more texture in bottle than it did last year from barrel. The citrus and stone fruit flavors are complicated by a salty stony quality. This very nicely balanced, firm wine finishes with a dusty, tactile mineral quality and rising length. While it needs time in bottle, it appears to be evolving gracefully and gaining in texture without any loss of precision.

Tank sample. Greenish note in the pale gold. Rather subtle nose with some sweet notes initially and then masses of acidity. A long-term runner. Lots of bright fruit. Chewy and chalky texture with lots going on towards the end. All builds towards the back of the palate. (JR)
(barely 20 hectoliters per hectare produced, due to frost): Bright light yellow. A touch of reduction as well as attractive floral lift to the aromas of white peach and lemon. Juicy, savory, very dry Vergers with a grapefruit flavor complicated by a saline element. On the lean side but delivers good intensity and length. Finishes a bit austere but precise, with citrus and salty mineral flavors.
