Tasting notes
The 2019 Bettina Proprietary Red Wine includes some Cabernet Franc stems, as those whole bunches were gently crushed and layered into fermentation tanks with destemmed fruit. Scents of menthol and red berries swirl about, mixing effortlessly into seamless, intertwined threads of herbs and fruit. Boasting ample concentration, this full-bodied wine offers great intensity and length on the complex, harmonious finish.

The 2019 Bettina is a rich, heady wine. It offers notable depth and also a bit more freshness than the Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage. It shows plenty of nuance, with red/purplish berry fruit, rose petal, lavender, cinnamon and a kiss of oak. All things considered, the 2019 is developing quite well.
Coming mostly from Madrona and Las Posadas, with a little estate fruit, the 2019 Bettina checks in as 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot. This full-bodied, seamless, elegant red has lots of cassis and currant-like fruits, plenty of background spicy oak, perfectly ripe tannins, and lots of flowers, incense, tobacco, and spice-driven aromatics. The Cabernet Franc here saw a touch of whole clusters, and the wine was aged in 70% new French oak. It's as classy as they come.
