Bright light yellow. Knockout nose combines aromas of lemon candy, orange zest, ginger, crushed stone and chalk. Smooth yet penetrating wine, showing less early sweetness than the Demoiselles but more refinement and energy. Intense citrus fruit and mineral flavors perfume the mouth. There's nothing austere about this utterly silky wine. Mounts slowly and inexorably on the very long, lightly salty back end.

Lively, lean but a bit oaky/formulaic. (JR)

(there's just a single used 350-liter barrel of this juice): Alluring, slightly high-toned aromas of ripe nectarine, peach and orange zest are complicated by spicy oak and a tangy hint of marmalade. Large-scaled, sweet and rich; a distinctly creamy style of Chevalier-Montrachet that will give early pleasure. Not obviously superior to the Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles but its slowly building whiplash of a finish suggests it will need longer aging.
