Tasting notes
The 2018 Corton Les Renardes Grand Cru offers mostly red berry fruit laced with sous-bois and subtle tobacco scents on the nose. With aeration, hints of peony and Japanese nori. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly coarse, edgy tannins, fine acidity, just a hint of graphite with a slightly clipped, peppery finish. It just misses some persistence on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

The 2018 Corton Les Renardes Grand Cru has a pretty, pure bouquet of well-defined raspberry, red currant and bergamot scents that intensify in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, and slightly creamier in texture than the Les Maréchaudes, with well integrated new oak (75%) on the finish. Excellent.
