Score 89/100 · Drink 2000-2007, Robert Parker, Feb 2000
Spicy new oak competes with ripe strawberry/cherry fruit in this medium-bodied, dense, tannic Chianti. The attack and mid-palate are concentrated and impressive, and the finish is firm. Give this Chianti another 6 months of bottle age, and drink it over the following 6-7 years. A Marc de Grazia Selection, imported by Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300

Red-ruby color. Sweet aromas of redcurrant, strawberry, iris, red licorice and meat. Rich, pliant and deep, with ripe framing acids giving the fruit terrific vibrancy. Seductively sweet and lush. Juicy, sweetly tannic finish, with a hint of nut skin. Sexy juice, and surprisingly accessible already.
